Greetings

Our world has faced many social challenges such as the growth of high-information society, changes in living conditions on aging society, and increased fragility kinship function. To resolve these situations, considerably greater flexible integration efforts with various approaches are essential in the fields of health and social services.
Health and social service systems are generally developed at the public administration level. However, such systems have often poor evidence. Further, experimental evidences from academic research are required to support such systems. Therefore, we need to develop health and social service systems that are based entirely on the perspective of empowerment and lifespan development. This will provide long-term holistic well-being for the people. We now need to eliminate the vertically divided administrative functions in health and social services, and extend their scope to include patient-specific care that is customized according to each individual’s needs.
The present legal and constitutional structure are not enough to provide adequate support to the health and social service system. It is essential to integrate the health and social service system at both individual and social levels.
The Japanese Society of Human Science of Health-Social Services enhances not just for basic research in academic fields (for example, basic concept, history, and methodology), but also for applied research based on practice. Further, it detects further researches that make valuable contributions to society.
The Japanese Society of Human Science of Health-Social Services was established on 13 February, 1986. Our purpose is to develop more integrated research and practice and to contribute for better world.
Presently, the chairperson of the academic society is Tokie Anme, a professor of University of Tsukuba.
